How do we put this system ?
The TERRASSTEEL ® system is installed in the following way: A carrier is installed every 2 meters in the direction of the future terrace blades and all meters in the other direction. The lambourdes are fixed perpendicular to the bearers every 50 cm (the distance between centers may be different depending on the decking chosen). Finally, the blades rest on the lambourdes in the direction of the wearers.
It is the assembly between the carriers (OM65) and the lambourdes (OM35) which gives the structure a resistant mesh that supports 500 Kg of load per m2.
What is the height of the entire metal structure ?
The structure has a height of 10 cm (carrier + lambourde).
- On concrete and self-supporting slabs, an adjustment of 10 mm (spacers) in addition to the height of the structure (100 mm)
- For installation directly on the floor, the height will be 100 mm (structure) + stud (20/30 mm mini)
What minimum height should be provided under the metal structure for the aeration of the terrace ?
The terrace does not require additional height for ventilation. Indeed, the galvanized steel with which our structure is composed blocks the wet ascents coming from the ground which prevents the decking from being deformed. Please note that depending on the region in which you are located, we recommend that you “close” the work using a finishing profile in order to avoid any uplift due to the wind.
Are the screws for fixing the deck to the flanges made of A4 stainless steel ?
To comply with DTU 51.4, we recommend the use of our stainless steel A4 and steel bimetal screws specially developed for our structure.
Reminder: A classic stainless steel drill screw will not pierce the structure.
Is the use of invisible clip to fix the decking blades possible ?
If you use clips, we can provide you with the appropriate screws.

Rivet pop envisageable ?
I read here and there that the concern is that the wood (the blades) and the steel work differently according to the temperature which can cause problems later on?
Indeed, steel and wood react differently to climate change. The wood swells (moisture) and dries permanently so it is important to leave a clearance between each blade so that the wood can “live” properly. The steel expands very little and blocks the wet rising, which leads to stability in the decking, so it does not affect the terrace.
I would like to make a terrace at 1.70 m high. Does your structure allow it ?
Is everything delivered (screws etc)?
We provide you with all the elements you need to build your terrace. The screws and accessories are inseparable from the structure, it is an essential condition to benefit from the decennial guarantee of the system.
At the sound level, does the structure not create a resonance by walking on it?
No, however, you can predetermine an EPDM cushioning strip on the lambor. It is a black elastomeric strip to dampen sound resonances.
What is the fixing spacing for the angle brackets ?
The angles are pre-drilled every 50cm and serve as support for the bearers. We recommend a fixation by chemical sealing adapted to the wall.
Are we forced to use joists for a concrete floor ?
What scope is allowed on your porters ? Your lambourdes ?
- For a standard MOM65 carrier, the range is 2 meters in combination with the OM 35 laminae every 50 cm.
- The OM35 lambourdes have a range of 1 meter.Conform DTU 51.4
Should a lambourde be fixed on the wall of the house to rigidify the terrace and attach it to the house?
No, the best is to use an angle iron or wall hoofs. This accessory serves as support for the wearers when they are perpendicular to a wall in order to connect them to the house. Reminder: Beware of the rising, so be sure to dress the structure laterally on the periphery of the terrace.
Is it possible to install blades with invisible fixing hapax fixing pro on your galvanized flanges, instead of using self-drilling visible screws?
We do not recommend this fastening system not in accordance with DTU 51.4.
Do you have a solution as to the vertical finishing strips at the end of the joists / blades? Indeed, how can one fix it?
We advise you to use a finishing profile to hide the structure and avoid the lifting. The profile can be attached either to the inside of the joist or to the outside of the wearer. (installation instructions supplied on delivery)
Can you attach body guards to your structure?
It is not possible to attach guardrails to the structure. You can, however, fix them on another support.
